3Dm MODELING Camp

Are you ready to put your creative energy and ideas into your own unique 3D creation?

While all 3D camps integrate the engineering and art aspects of STEAM, this camp has a heavier focus on the Art with a focus on using 3D software to create and artistically render 3D objects.

In this camp kids learn the fundamentals of 3D modeling using Meshmixer to create their own objects and characters. Having learned basic commands, kids will work on 3D meshes to sculpt their own creations. An introduction to 3D design and 3D printing will round off this camp.

At the end of camp, kids will walk away with an awesome 3D character they’ll be proud to share with friends and family! They’ll also be able to continue working on their creation after camp – we will provide the 3D file of their creation.

3D design camp

Ready to design a cool gadget that nobody has made yet? Need to replace a broken plastic part? Creating 3D designs is the first step in making ideas a reality.

While all 3D Visuals camps integrate the engineering and art aspects of STEAM, this camp has a heavier focus on Engineering with emphasis on precise measurement and analysis of specifications in the design and creation of 3D objects.

In this camp kids learn the fundamentals of 3D design using Design Spark and other free software packages. From simple objects to more complex designs, kids will learn how to create a digital model starting with an idea, a drawing or a physical object. Going through the cycle from ideation, creation, measurement, improvement is a part of the Design Thinking process. The camp will finish with the kids designing an exoskeleton for their own 3D model.

At the end of camp, kids will walk away with their own 3D designs they can continue to work on at home – we will provide the 3D file of their creations.

Build your own3d printer camp

It is fascinating to see 3D printers working away on printing 3D models. Layer by layer is added until the model is in its final shape.

This camp is all about learning the fundamentals of 3D printing. Kids will assemble a DIY kit of a plastic filament printer. Calibrating and optimizing the printer using standard models and their own creations is a part of the design thinking process of this camp. Typical 3D printing issues and how to resolve them is a part of the program and part of our commitment to give your child knowledge that will enable him or her to continue successful printing at home far after the camp has been completed.

At the end of camp, kids will walk away with their own 3D printer ready to use at home.
